Okay, so because I like being a positive person, I thought it would be kind of fun to do a top ten list. So . . . here are:
My Top Ten Reasons Why It’s Nice Not Having A Job At The Moment.
10. I don’t have to leave the cat in my daughter’s room when I go into the office. He can be free.
9. I can clean if I want to . . . operative word . . . if I want to.
8. I can watch tv all day if I want to. (Okay, so maybe there’s been a day or two where I have watched tv all day. lol)
7. I have more time for my own blog now.
6. I can sleep in to the lovely time of 6:45 . . . if I'm lucky, that is. Curse my internal clock for not letting me sleep in for reals!
5. I have time to do more photography. (Ohhh, the ideas in my head!)
4. I can finally clean my office like it’s suppose to be. (It hasn’t been clean like those photos since I took them! *gasp*)
3. I can research and learn new things to improve my skills (said in my Napoleon Dynamite voice).
2. I can have lunch with my dear friends whenever I feel like it–like having lunch with Teresa Collins yesterday or Kristy Banks last week . . . twice. Love them!
And the number one reason why it’s nice not having a job at the moment . . .
1. I get to be at home with my girls all summer long and can take a vacation without “missing work.”
Now, to continue the act of positivity, I'm doing a GIVEAWAY!!!
Leave a comment in today's post about what you do or would do with free time and you'll have a chance to win a set of these KI Alphabet Soup kits . . . from QVC back in the day. It's funny the things you find when you're cleaning. ;) I do have to keep the winners limited to the contiguous U.S. I have THREE kits to give away too! I'll draw a winner Tuesday morning.
I will have free time in the month of July so I am hoping to spend some real quality time with my girls, work on my photography and photoshop skills and learn at least one new thing! Hope that's not too much stuff LOL. Hope you have a great summer and I truly believe you are right where God wants you at this moment in time. Hugs and Prayers to you and your family.

Thanks for the chance to win :)

Free time??? YIKES - my list is so long, I don't know where I would start. But one of my favorite things to do in the summer is sit in my backyard after dinner with a good book and read.

I think you're being so positive about this...I'm sure this will be a great thing. I would actually love to trade spots with you. I have a less than fulfilling job, and I can only imagine being able to have free time to spend with my kids, create, catch up on a ton of genealogy projects, and spend more time with my aging mother, who has a ton of "honey-do" projects that really really need to be done. Keep smiling--and I'm excited you'll be blogging more...I love your blog!

OOOH the thought of free time!! lol
I think I would spend my time scrapbooking and then sitting in the backyard reading a really good book! Thanks for the chance to win and I love that you're looking on the bright side of the situation. Enjoy the time you get with your girls!

Yeah free time I don't think that will ever happen ;) But if I did have more time I would move my scrapbook stuff out of my little scrapbook closet to my little office area (at least it is bigger then my closet). I'm working on it slowly but surely. I only know you from your blogs but I would go to lunch with you any time even if it meant missing work ;) Enjoy your time while you have it!

Well, during the summer I do have free time because I am a school bus driver. I sleep a little later (maybe until 7 am), clean out different areas that have been neglected, roam around on the internet alot and TRY to scrapbook more!

I would take a long nap and dream of the scrapbook pages I want to create!

With my free time I edit my photos I take...I take way more then I need so it's something I do in my free time...while watching t.v. or listening to pandora radio.
OR...I go get a pedicure :)

Free time...er...Seriously, I'm looking forward to spending some time with my boys this summer, and scrappin', of course. Somehow, stuff just for me always ends up on the bottom of the to-do list, you know? I've been a "lurker" on your blog for a while now (found it through Silhouette); Wishing you all the best in whatever you do next.

I've gotten hooked to scrapbook technique videos. I can easily lose hours in a day just surfing and digging.

Good for you! Enjoy it! I would use the time to create! And go for walks. I wish I could be outside more!

I am happy you have some time off -- and a wee bit jealous!
I would spend time with my son and husband! And I would not drive on the tollway everyday for 2 hours!!!
Enjoy your summer --- thanks for always being so inspiring!

So glad you're enjoying your free time!
If I had more of that precious commodity, I'd finish up those vacation albums I started last year. (ok, let's be honest: I only started one, but I Jace all the supplies for the other sitting on my dresser. *sigh*)
I would rent some movies with my kids and just sit around and watch them (they're both reading Harry Potter now, so that whole series is on our list!)
And I'd go shopping to the outlet mall that opened last year that's only 20 minutes away but I haven't been to in months (must buy new shorts at the Gap outlet!)
there's more stuff I'd do of course...but I can dream, right?;)
thanks for the chance at your giveaway, and let us know what other ways you're spending your summer! You go, girl!

I would love to have the time to actually sit out in our hammock under the trees and read a good book. We put it up every summer, and I never have the time to sit in it. Each summer I think that maybe this will be the one! Enjoy your free time; we have too little of it in our lives.

IF my kids were gone, I would scrapbook and continue working on my son's senior album. And watch a movie. And read a book. Oh, the choices!

Free time? Not sure it exists in a family of 8, but if it did, more scrapping, more work on my photography and I would definitely get out the cello I got for Christmas and work more on learning to play it!

Great job on focusing on the positive! I enjoyed all of your reasons :)
If I had more free time I would go more staycation activities. Check out great hiking trails, try new places to eat, go do some of the more touristy things that I never seem to do becuase I live here.

I would scrapbook and read!! Enjoy your free time!

What a good attitude to have :) There's always a silver lining, right? :)
Sometimes, one of the best things to do with free time is NOTHING!
Posted by: Dani | June 11, 2010 at 01:00 PM
Probably read, sleep, or scrapbook.

I would love to take piano lessons. Its something I've always wanted to do, but never have the time. Use your free time to recharge your creative juices to use for your next adventure!

If it was mid temperature and no humidity i would sit by a firepit and either sleep or read. If it was rainy i would lay on the couch and watch movies like Anne of Green Gables or read all day. If it was really hot i would play in the pool and soak some sun. All of the above with my family of course. My list really could go on and on. Thanks for letting me dream. Maybe i will just MAKE some free time. I can choose what to do with my God-given 24-hour day. Like the song by New Song, don't need more hours in my day just more life in my day! Thanks! Enjoy your time.

You are an inspiration...I lost my job of 12+ years two weeks ago and scared doesn't even began to address how I feel (trying to not sound pathetic but the last 18 months I have been dealing with serious health problems so losing my income frightens me) but your list made me smile and I know with the grace of Heavenly Father my little family and I will be ok...Thanks for the chance to win!!!
